Lichfield BBQ

Bank holidays. What would we do without them. It's not a day Jared will usually get off, but this year we celebrated on the Sunday, so he was able to go :) The Lichfield girls are about the sweetest group of ladies I have met in England. Last year they held a great BBQ as well. Since the last BBQ I have seen many different living arrangements, and one included the Lichfield flat.
Jared and I enjoyed a sunny day catching up with old friends, and making a few new ones. We enjoyed some lovely food, Katy the sweet potato was amazing, and did I mention the weather? :)
I love days like that, since being married our lives have changed in regards to our social life. I now see Jared daily (something I completely LOVE) but friend outings have become far between. I anticipated that this would happen, everyone always said it would. I thought then that I would just make sure to see people, but I didn't expect that not to make a difference. The BBQ was great for getting some of my needed social time, with people other than my husband. (Sorry I do love you baby!) London is as busy as one would imagine, so it makes sense that I cant always get to see my friends as often as I would like. I treasure the days we get to slow down and have a good catch-up!
What I wasn't expecting out of the bank holiday celebration was seeing a dear friend I have not seen in 2 years, Anders Aabo! Anders and I met in 2010, when I came to London the first time. We made some lovely memories (including my first Thanksgiving away from home). 2 years ago I met him in Provo where he was living at the time, where we spent the day out with the lovely Eliza Henderson. I love reunions, especially with truly good friends. It's nice to have another mutual friend of Jared and mine in London. Although, all of our freinds become mutual friends, we just know how to pick 'um! Anders in particular, I cannot say a bad thing about him, he is one of the good ones!
I am looking forward to our summer in London. Since the BBQ we have only had rotten weather! Lets just hope the sun comes back, so we can enjoy many more BBQs with good friends!
